Smokeless Needle Head Moxa
(Shihanakyu Japanese Style)
Shihanakyu in Japanese means Four Flowers. Four Flowers & Disease Gate Moxibustion is a stream of traditional moxibustion theory and techniques that has gained increasing popularity.
In the style of "Ondan" but at a fraction of its price, these Japanese style smokeless needle head moxa are perfect for needle heating in the modern clinic environment.

There is no need in fiddling around with moxa punk. Simply cap onto Japanese style acupuncture needles (see AcuMax under needle section) and it's ready to go. These can also be applied to Chinese style needles after the end ring is snipped off.
Though not quite as refined as the Japanese ones, they are effective and very economical. It would be handy to have a wash basin close by.

The pre-cut moxa roll is made of regular moxa rolled into paper cover. It has an overall similar dimension to the Pure Moxa Roll, but is pre-cut into 12 segments. During treatment, simply snap a segment off, pierce with a skewer and apply to the needle handle.
Caution:
The heat release is strong and be careful of falling ashes. The heated needle with moxa may need to be removed after 3-5 minutes of combustion.

These mini rolls for needle heating are made of a finer quality moxa, rolled into paper. It releases less smoke, less odour and less strong heat. The mini rolls are factory cut and are perched on a skewer.
Caution:
The heat release is moderately strong and be careful of falling ashes. The heated needle with moxa may need to be removed after 2-4 minutes of combustion.

Instructions & Precautions
* Before starting, please pierce the moxa roll with a skewer.
* Apply the pre-cut moxa to the needles handle and squeeze it
to ensure a tight fit.
* To avoid skin burn from falling ashes, make sure to use
protection cover around the treatment area.
* If the patient feels the needle is uncomfortably hot, please
remove the needle immediately.
* Leaving the moxa rolls, particularly those with strong heat
release, fully combusted on the needle handle may cause burns
injury.
* To remove a heated needle, always use a heat insulating glove.
